Swagbucks – Is it worth the Time?

“Our mission is to get you free gift cards by rewarding you points (called SB) for things you do online.” – Swagbucks.com

That right there is a bold statement. It’s enticing. It’s appealing. It seems too good to be true. But is it? I’m here to tell you everything you need to know about Swagbucks, which I wholeheartedly consider to be the best passive income app on the market.

What Is Swagbucks?

So, before we get started… What is Swagbucks? Essentially it is a company that partners with hundreds of other different companies to provide incentives to you for engaging with those companies and their products/services/content.

Essentially it is a company that partners with hundreds of other different companies to provide incentives to you for engaging with those companies and their products/services/content.

What does that look like to you?

You go to Swagbucks.com, register for an account of course, and then engage with content on the website. Let’s say you chose to watch one of their video sets. After you watch the videos (or whatever the task is described as), you will receive Swagbucks.

It’s really that simple.

Oh, and by the way… One SB = One penny. This is an important conversion to remember, as it helps you to gauge the “worthiness” of the various tasks… more on this later.

For now, just keep the conversion in mind.

Currently, there are six main ways to earn:

  • Shop
  • Watch
  • Search
  • Play
  • Answer
  • Discover

Keep reading, and will break each of them down to let you know the ins and outs of each and the best ways to maximize your earnings.

This is a great way to earn a lot of SB. If you shop through Swagbucks’ partners (and trust me, they have tons), you’ll get a certain percent of SB for each purchase. Essentially, it’s like getting cash back with a credit-card purchase.

For example, I just bought something from Kay Jewelers. A month later, I will receive a couple hundred SB as cash back. Like I said, they have tons of stores available for you to browse, such as Nike, Kay(obviously), Walmart, JC Penny… There really are too many to list.

If you simply switch all of your shopping over to Swagbucks, you’ll be making a lot of extra cash back.

To be honest, this is one of my favorite ways to earn.

Download the Swagbucks app, as well as the Swagbucks TV app and Sportly, and let them run on your phone. They automatically play through the videos and the ads, and if you have a spare phone laying around, you could potentially run videos all day and make a good amount of Swagbucks.

If you don’t have an extra phone, just run it on your primary phone when you don’t need it: doing homework, eating dinner, watching TV.

By making small changes like that, you’ll be able to put a lot of extra SB in your account. However, I would strongly recommend that you DON’T waste your time sitting through watching videos on your computer. It’s more time than it’s worth.

The apps are much better.

This is by far the most simple way to earn SB, and makes this truly “passive”. Simply set up Swagbucks as your search engine, and use the internet like you normally do. Every once in a while, you’ll get a message saying “Your search has earned you ___ SB”.

This is a super simple way to earn, and it can actually add up! The biggest single search I’ve had thus far was 26 SB. 26 cents for searching a car company? Sign me up!

Honestly, I don’t prefer this one. These involve you spending money on in-game items, which I STRONGLY advise against.

Apart from that, Swagbucks has these three in-house games that are really fun to play. It’s a really simple way to earn 30 SB every day. However, in my month of using this program, I haven’t gotten the games to work a single time.

Hopefully, by the time you read this, it will be fixed, but if not, I would stay away from this earning method.

This can be the best (or worst) way to earn SB. What do I mean?

Every once in a while, SB has a great deal, such as 900SB for signing up for the Dollar Shave Club, or 2,000 for signing up for Hulu. However, the other Discover earning methods are really sketchy and very bad for earning. They usually involve viewing 10 slides on a website, or taking a quiz and sharing on social media, but those options rarely work and actually pay out.

The only good way I have found thus far to earn with Discover is to download recommended apps via your mobile phone, but even that isn’t a sure fire method.

This is the best way to earn SB fast. It does take a bit of patience, but I would say I average about $1.50 a day doing these surveys.

Basically, Swagbucks partners with a ton of different companies that offer to pay you SB to take their surveys. You fill out a few identification questions, and then take surveys. I will admit, I get rejected for more surveys than I get accepted for (some survey providers are looking for very specific respondents).

However, when you do get accepted, you have the potential to earn anywhere from 20 to 150 Swagbucks. Be sure to always try to go for the surveys with the highest payout for the lowest amount of time… It’s just common sense!

Alternative Methods

In addition to these tried and true methods, there are a few new ways to earn SB. Let’s dive into them:

One of these is through Swagcodes. These are essentially random codes that Swagbucks posts throughout the web, usually on their social media. Simply find the code, paste it into the code bar, and you’ll earn a couple of SB. It usually isn’t much, but they do add up! And, before you download the app and scourge all of Swagbucks’ social media pages, just know the codes are time sensitive.

Once the code is posted, you can only get Swagbucks for entering it if you submit within the allotted time frame (it usually seems to be around 2-3 hours). The easiest way to take advantage of these codes is to install the “Swagbutton” which is an add-on for Chrome and other major browsers. This, as well as the Swagbucks app, will notify you when there is a code available.

Daily To-Do List

One other way for users to earn Swagbucks is through the daily To-Do list. Essentially, there are 8 tasks that you must complete. For example, there is a daily search, where you search sponsored content, a daily survey, a daily poll, and some other easy-to-complete tasks. Once you complete six of the eight tasks, you get a small bonus, and upon completing all 8 of the tasks, you get an even bigger bonus!

Daily Goal

The last way you can enhance your earnings is by reaching the Daily Goal every day. By doing this, you not only receive a small bonus but, if you create a streak of completing the daily bonus, you can get some very nice bonuses. For example, I am about to hit my 21-day streak for the month, so I will get an extra 200 SB ($2.00, for those of you who forgot the conversion rate). I would highly recommend reaching the Daily Goal every day, as it provides a handsome extra bonus to you.

The Verdict: Should You Download Swagbucks?

So, with all of this information to absorb, how can you make the most out of this program? Be consistent. Reach the daily goal every single day, at minimum, and you will see a very substantial amount of money in your account at the end of the year.

I have been using it for around five months, with two months of very minimal use. As of July 5th, 2017 I have already made 12,309 SB (123.09 dollars) just from doing the basic tasks. It is easily within the realm of possibility to earn roughly $1.50 a day. Multiply that by 30, the average number of days in a month, and then that number by twelve for the number of months in one year, and you will have an extra $540 dollars in your pocket each year.

And that isn’t even factoring in the daily bonuses and streak bonuses for the month.

The best part is, it doesn’t even take a terribly long amount of time to do the daily bonus and make that much money in a day. Complete the to-do list, take a couple of surveys, and you’ll reach the daily goal with no problem. I probably spend on average no more than 20 minutes per day. Everyone has time for that. However, I must admit that when I get rejected from a lot of the surveys, it does take longer to reach my goal.

However, this is a very easy-to-do stream of passive income which can lead to hundreds of extra dollars in your pocket each year (I’ve even read some blogs where people have said they make enough to pay for all of their Christmas presents in one year).

So, I highly recommend you try this out. This is by far the fastest-earning passive income app I have found, and, as I’m sure you’ve figured out, I have tried many.

Plus, if you sign up with this code, we’ll both receive a little bonus. It’s totally free for you to use, and it will allow us to take advantage of this awesome app together!
