Target Cartwheel Review

While most of my app reviews are universal, meaning they can be used in a variety of different applications or at different stores, this week’s review is a little different.

This week, I’m discussing all things Cartwheel: Target’s awesome coupon app that has, according to their website, saved users over 1 Billion dollars!

So, what is Cartwheel? Unlike apps like Ibotta, Cartwheel is designed specifically for Target stores. When you open the Cartwheel app, you will be greeted with a home screen. From there, you can immediately begin browsing offers for your next Target run, search products that you’re looking for, or navigate using the bottom ribbon to other pages of the app.

So, what is there to like about this app?

It’s Actually Useful!

Some rebate/cash back apps offer great deals – but on things no one actually wants or buys regularly! Cartwheel, on the other hand, offers tons of great coupons on items that people actually buy!

For example, as I am typing this, some current Cartwheel deals are:

  • 5% off Dish Care.
  • 5% off Target branded cheese
  • 5% off hand soap.
  • 5% off household cleaners.
  • 5% off paper towels
  • 40% off Goldfish Crackers

Plus so much more!

As you can see, Cartwheel offers tons of great coupons on things people actually want!

The App is Simple to Use

One of my favorite features of this app is just how easy it is to use. You can scan a product’s barcode using a tool in the app to see if it’s eligible for any deals (and if it’s not, the app will try to recommend similar deals you might be interested in.

Next, as you shop, you add deals to your barcode! Please keep in mind, however, that you can only add a certain amount of coupons when you start using the app. The more you use the app, the more slots open up for your use (right now I can add 50 items to my barcode).

Then, when you’re finished shopping, you tap the ‘checkout’ tab at the bottom, and the app generates a barcode specific to your account. When it’s time to checkout, simply scan your barcode as you would with any normal item, and all of the coupons you added to your barcode will automatically deduct from your total!

If you scan your barcode and the total is the same as before, don’t worry. The computer should register that you did in fact scan your Cartwheel (it should list “Cartwheel” along with the actual items you scanned), and when you proceed to checkout, then your total will reflect the coupons you added in your barcode.

Pretty simple, huh?

I think so!

It Actually Works!

In general, people tend to be very skeptical when it comes to apps such as this. They worry that they will not get their cash back, their points, or that something will happen and all of their effort using the app will be wasted.

Nothing to worry about here!

Target is a huge corporation, and you can bet your ass they wouldn’t try to pull any funny stuff on their valuable customers.

The app is completely legitimate, and thus far, I have saved over $40.00!

While I will be totally honest, I do not shop at Target very often (it is just kind of inconvenient for me, and the prices tend to run a little higher than other stores I shop at), when I do shop at Target, the first thing I do when I walk in is open the app.

Truthfully, if you shop at Target more than once a week, there is absolutely no excuse for you to not be using this app.

Thank you so much for reading my review of the Cartwheel app! If you enjoyed, please share it with your friends and family! Also, be sure to follow me on Twitter and subscribe for email updates so you’re notified every time I make a new post!
